Every single way

The weeks that have passed since you’ve been gone,
It’s hard to know what to say when you lose someone,
Nothing can prepare you for the pain you feel, it runs deeper than words can say,
We all try to think of the good times, but the thoughts soon turn to dismay.

Change what you can change, get on with what you cant, easy to say but harder to do,
How can we get on with life, when all we think about, is how we miss you,
How the kids don't have time with Nanny, a son without a mother,
But it will slowly get a bit easier, one way or another.

Instead of sorrow lets think of joy for a while,
Your infectious laughter, your heart-warming smile,
Your caring side helping all until the end,
Forever selfless to all family and friends,
Your silly side with the kids, feeding them too much, such fun causing trouble and mess,
No wonder all the kids said, you’re crazy and the best.

You were a warrior so strong, confident, calm and wise,
A real daredevil with a love for heights,
I could go on forever about how special you are, how you were a light, an inspiration for so many,
Rest now, we are all so proud of you and will share stories aplenty.

Always looking out for your family, even now no truer words can be said,
Giving our family love and security with the family home now above our head,
I wish you knew how much we appreciated everything you did, and everything that you were,
To the world you were one person, to us you were the world.

We will grieve for now, but only for a while,
For you would want us to live life and smile.
One last important thing I wish to say,
‘Thank you’ in every single way.
